Prerequisite: Completion Beginner ON1 Level 1 and Salsa ON1 Level 2 or a foundational understanding of Salsa ON2 timing and fundamentals.
Making the switch from Salsa On1 to On2 can feel like a big leap, but this course is designed to make that transition smooth, clear, and empowering. Whether you’re a dedicated On1 dancer looking to expand your skills or simply curious about the New York-style approach, this class will guide you through every step of the process with clarity and support.
You'll learn how to reframe your timing by focusing on the clave and break step placement, helping you understand not just how to count On2, but how to feel it through the music. Instructors will help you adapt your existing salsa vocabulary to the new rhythm without having to start from scratch. Through structured exercises, you'll explore how to shift your weight, adjust your footwork, and adapt partner connection techniques to fit the On2 timing.
In addition to musical interpretation and body awareness, this course creates a space to slow down, ask questions, and work at a pace that builds confidence. By the end of the cycle, you'll feel more connected to the music and ready to take on On2-focused classes, social dancing, or even performance opportunities.
This is your bridge between what you already know and the next chapter in your salsa journey—New York style!
